Former boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. paid $18 mιllιon for a magnificent new waterfront property near Miami Beach. The modern three-story residence is located on Palm Island, a gated, affluent area of the city. According to realtor.com, the average asking price for a residence there in July was $21 mιllιon, a staggering 200% increase from the same time in 2020.

After making $915 mιllιon over 10 years, Mr. Mayweather, 44, was named the highest-paid athlete of the decade by Forbes in 2019. According to property records, he bought the house last week using a Nevada limited liability business of which he serves as manager.

According to the listing with Douglas Elliman’s Dina Goldentayer and Ana Viyella, who declined to comment on the transaction, his luxurious new home is 10,853 square feet in size and offers unobstructed views of the city horizon, passing cruise ships, and the coveted city sunset.

According to the description, the nine-bedroom estate was built for both inside and outdoor leisure. In addition to having modern, minimalist decor, it also has a gym, a game room, a large entertainment space, smart home technologies, and an elevator.

There is also a private dock that can hold boats up to 100 feet long, a roof deck, a pool, and a four-car garage. Mr. Mayweather was represented in the transaction by Tanasha Pettigrew of Galleria International Realty.

The opulent Las Vegas house Mr. Mayweather purchased in 2018 for $10 mιllιon and the French Modern-style estate in Beverly Hills he purchased in 2017 for $26 mιllιon are the three most recent additions to his real estate portfolio.
