Where does the famous drag queen RuPaul sleep? In a four-poster canopy bed or a velvet clw-foot divan with Georges LeBar in their Beverly Hills residence. With its expansive, light-filled interiors and neoclassical details decorated with vibrant hues and maximalist grandeur, the home is more than fit for nobility.

In 2019, RuPaul and LeBar bought the European-style property and enlisted the help of old pals Martyn Lawrence Bullard and Christopher Hatch McLean to work their magic.

They welcomed the June issue of Architectural Digest into their newly furnished house. While the front of the estate features a gorgeous outdoor dining area and pool that appear to have been lifted directly from an Italian summer residence, the interior of the mansion is packed with lavish, striking rooms.

This is Ru’s residence, a majestic mansion designed to be the focal point, with a marble staircase and neoclassical black railing, and a lavish soft-pink entrance. Bullard stated in the cover article that there is no better location for the transgender mother of the universe to hold court. AD asserts that RuPaul had no limitations for the project and assured Bullard, “I can go as far as your imagination will take us.”

Bullard followed this order and decorated the entire house in dazzling white and black, with magnificent marble, striking wallpaper, and puzzling geometric patterns. Corinthian striped pilasters, unusual fireplaces, gorgeous gold leaf light fixtures, and crystal chandeliers are just a few of the opulent elements.

The couple met for the first time in the 1990s at the renowned New York nightclub Limelight, whose ground-floor ballroom is adorned with giant disco balls and images of musical luminaries such as Billie Holliday, Grace Jones, and Diana Ross.

Everywhere you look, there are brilliant details, including lacquered furniture, velvet couches in jewel tones, and, of course, RuPaul’s rainbow-themed outfit. The house has two gigantic walk-in closets, one of which has a bench and a full-length mirror. One is only considering his drag attire.)
