Rafael Nadal is a tennis superstar in the singles game, but he prefers to play doubles. His 23.95-meter (80-foot) 80 Sunreef Power catamaran Great White offers 360 square meters of living space, a flybridge with a bar and barbecue, a stern garage for a jet ski, and an attractive interior in cream and coffee tones.

When he was a young child, he developed an interest in boats while riding in his father’s Riviera power boat around his native island of Mallorca. He started his yachting career on a Princess V62, which he traded in for a Monte Carlo Yachts MCY 76 in 2017. He would fly home between competitions for quick snorkeling excursions or a peaceful night on board. He did, however, come to appreciate the advantages of having two hulls after renting a Sunreef 74 sailing catamaran. He recalls, “I met wonderful people and saw magnificent sights in The Bahamas. “Thanks to the incredibly spacious and comfortable accommodations, those seven days aboard with my family will never be forgotten.” These are the main causes of why I currently own a Sunreef catamaran.

For Nadal, it was all about the space. “Since I’ve only ever owned monohulls, the enormous amount of space on a catamaran has me spellbound. The 80 Sunreef Power is the biggest yacht that can dock in my tiny port [on Mallorca], to be really honest. It’s perfect for me because it’s in front of my Porto Cristo home. No monohull up to [30 meters] can access the tremendous room on my catamaran. The main reason I made the conversion from monohull to multihull was for that.

In order to take a vacation from his grueling training regimen, Nadal claimed that he intended to ride Great White around the coast of his native island of Mallorca. The pressure of competing every day, he remarked, “cannot be hidden.” I’ll have the chance to go out when I go home and spend perhaps just one day away from everything, not worrying about tennis, just diving, and spending the night on a boat.

The entirely customized catamaran has “bold, contemporary hull styling,” according to the yard, and was created in-house. With regard to the interior decor, Nadal commented, “I wanted to feel like I was in my own house.” “Naturally, I had some special requests. I didn’t want a Jacuzzi on the flybridge since I like wide open spaces better. Since there is water all around the boat where I can swim and relax, I don’t need any Jacuzzis on board.

The exterior features include stainless steel portlights, high bulwarks, soft ambient lighting, and a superyacht tender garage big enough to hold a tender, Jet Ski, and other water toys. Eight people can stay on board Great White in four cabins, with the owner’s suite, a guest cabin, and the staff quarters all located in the starboard hull. The master bedroom of Rafael Nadal features a walk-in closet, a sofa, a retractable TV from the ceiling above the double bed, and a separate terrace.
