Explore the House in Hollywoodland owned by Madonna

For $21 million, a former Madonna home in the Hollywood Hills is being listed for sale. The Spanish-style residence, which is about 10,500 square feet, has views of the Hollywood sign.

Castillo del Lago, a house from the 1920s, is perched on a ridge just below the Hollywood sign. A memoir written by her brother, Christopher Ciccone, claims that Madonna bought the house in 1993 for roughly $5 million and sold it in 1996.

According to the property’s ownership records, Leon Max of Max Studio is a fashion designer.

According to the 2007 book “Houses of Los Angeles,” Hollywoodland, a neighborhood that started as a 1920s real-estate development, was home to the Spanish-style palace designed by renowned architect John DeLario.

The house later evolved into a local landmark. Later, parts from the 1984 movie “Beverly Hills Cop” were reportedly filmed there, according to the movie website IMDb.

Records show that Madonna sold the house to Joe Pytka, a commercial director, who then sold it to Mr. Max for $7 million. Mr. Max asserted that he restored the turrets and retaining walls to their original weathered-white color after purchasing the home.

In order to “gain back something resembling a minstrel’s gallery overhng the main inner courtyard,” he also created a breezeway. He claimed to have planted jasmine, wisteria, and fig ivy among other vines in the rebuilt angling gardens.

The 10,500 square foot, nine-bedroom house has vistas of downtown Los Angeles and Lake Hollywood. The building is made up of two towers, the entry tower including a magnificent spiral staircase and an old elevator with wooden paneling.

There is a second tower with furniture inside the main apartment. Terracotta flooring, vaulted ceilings, colorful tilework, and arched gateways in the Moorish style are just a few of the lavish architectural features that surround the property.

The two-story living area is decorated with elaborate wooden beams, and the center courtyard is stunning with a fountain and an outdoor fireplace. There are also multiple terraces, a wine room, a media room, and an outdoor lap pool on the property.

The house in Hollywoodland owned by Madonna had been her cherished home for many years. With its sprawling lawns and magnificent views of the Hollywood Hills, it had been a place of refuge and inspiration for the pop icon. However, as Madonna’s career evolved and her family grew, she found herself spending less and less time at the house.

Finally, after much consideration, Madonna made the difficult decision to sell the house in Hollywoodland. It was a bittersweet moment for her, as she had so many memories attached to the property. But she knew it was time to let it go and allow someone else to create their own memories there.

As the new owners moved in and began to make the house their own, Madonna watched from afar, happy to see the house continue to bring joy to others. And though she had moved on to new adventures, she would always hold a special place in her heart for the house in Hollywoodland owned by Madonna.
